Payments & Refunds

Q1 What payment methods does GoGlobe accept?

GoGlobe accepts credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers through our secure payment partner Revolut. Local payment methods are also available in some countries. You choose your preferred method at checkout.

Q2 Is my payment information stored securely?

Your card details go directly to our EU-licensed payment provider — we never see, store, or have access to your full card number, expiry date, or CVV.

Q3 What happens if I cancel a hotel booking?

To cancel a hotel booking, go to Account → My Bookings, find the hotel reservation, and tap Cancel. You’ll see the cancellation terms before confirming — including whether a free-cancellation window still applies.

Refund amount: depends on the hotel’s own policy. Free-cancellation bookings refund the full room cost. Non-refundable bookings may return nothing. In both cases GoGlobe’s original booking fee (shown at checkout) is non-refundable, and a €5 GoGlobe cancellation fee plus a 1% payment processing fee are retained.

If the hotel cancels on you, that’s different: you get the full refund back with no GoGlobe cancellation fee and no processing fee — we absorb both, because the cancellation wasn’t your fault.

Refund timing: GoGlobe issues the refund within 24 hours of the cancellation being confirmed. It then usually appears on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank — that part is your bank’s timeline, not ours.

Q4 If I cancel a flight, how much do I get back?

To cancel a flight, go to Account → My Bookings, open the flight booking, and tap Cancel or Request Cancellation. You’ll see an estimated refund breakdown before you confirm.

What you get back: the original fare minus the airline’s own cancellation fee, a €5 GoGlobe cancellation fee, and a 1% payment processing fee. The booking fee you paid at checkout is not refunded. Non-refundable fares cannot be cancelled for a cash refund — the airline may offer credit instead, in which case the 1% payment fee is waived.

If the airline cancels your flight, that’s different: you get the full refund back with no GoGlobe cancellation fee and no processing fee — we absorb both, because the cancellation wasn’t your fault.

Refund timing: GoGlobe issues the refund to your original payment method within 24 hours of the airline confirming the cancellation. It then usually appears on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Q5 How long do refunds take?

GoGlobe issues your refund within 24 hours of the airline or hotel confirming the cancellation, and you’ll get a confirmation email the moment it goes out.

After that it’s your bank’s timeline, not ours: card refunds usually appear on your statement within 5–10 business days. Bank transfer refunds may arrive faster.

Q6 Can I change my flight after booking?

If the flight is refundable then you will have the option to receive a refund minus processing fees and airline cancellation fees, or you can choose to hold the refund amount in your account (no processing fee charged) to then book another flight with the same airline.

Q7 What happens if I miss my flight?

Contact the airline directly as quickly as possible — they control no-show and rebooking policies. GoGlobe can show you alternative flights to rebook, but the original booking is subject to the airline’s own no-show policy and GoGlobe cannot override it.

Q8 Are there any extra fees when I book through GoGlobe?

Yes — one small booking fee, between €2.99 and €4.99 depending on whether you’re booking a flight or a stay and which payment method you use. The exact amount is always shown at checkout before you pay, and it is non-refundable.

There are no other GoGlobe charges: no fee to search, use the globe, or manage your bookings, and we don’t add any foreign exchange fee on top of your card issuer’s rate.

Q9 How does GoGlobe protect me from fraud?

Payments go through a regulated EU-licensed payment provider using industry-standard encryption and fraud detection. GoGlobe also monitors for unusual booking patterns. If you see a charge you didn’t make, contact us immediately through Account → Help.

Q10 Can I pay in my own currency?

Flights and hotels are priced in the currency set by the airline or hotel. Your card issuer handles any currency conversion at their exchange rate. GoGlobe does not add any foreign exchange fees on top.

Account & Profile

Q11 What is my GoGlobe profile used for?

Your profile stores your travel history, saved places, Explorer archetype, achievements, and booking records. It’s how the app remembers where you’ve been and personalises your travel recommendations and globe experience.

Q12 Can other users see my profile or activity?

Your saved places, bookings, and private data are visible only to you. Your username and Explorer archetype are visible to other users only if you turn on public profile sharing in Account → Settings.

Q13 Can I delete my GoGlobe account?

Yes — go to Account → Privacy and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your personal data from our systems within 30 days, as required by GDPR. Completed booking records may be kept for legal and tax purposes.

Your Data & Privacy

Q14 What personal data does GoGlobe collect?

GoGlobe collects your email address, username, travel searches, saved places, booking history, and approximate location (country level, derived from IP). If you use voice search, audio is transcribed and then discarded. We do not collect or store your precise GPS location unless you explicitly attach one to a photo or place.

Q15 Can I download a copy of my personal data?

Yes. Go to Account → Privacy and request a data export. We’ll prepare a file with all your data and email it to you within 72 hours.

Q16 Does GoGlobe share or sell my data?

GoGlobe does not sell your data. We share only what’s strictly necessary with our travel booking partners (airlines, hotels) to complete your bookings, and with our payment provider to process payments. We do not share your data with advertising networks.

Coins & AI Chat

Q17 What are GoGlobe Coins and how do I earn them?

GoGlobe Coins are in-app credits you earn for free — daily logins, adding new countries and cities to your globe, uploading photos, completing the Explorer Quiz, travel streaks, and badges. You spend them on the AI features: a message to Seol, a Things Around search, or a minute of live location sharing each cost a small number of coins, voice search costs less, and a Trip Planner itinerary costs the most. The exact cost is always shown before you spend, and your full balance and history are in Account → Globe Coins. No purchase needed.

Q18 Does it cost anything to use the Seol AI chat?

Chatting with Seol costs a small number of GoGlobe Coins per message — the current cost is shown in the chat panel and in Account → Globe Coins. You earn coins for free through daily logins, exploring new places, photos, challenges, and badges — you don’t need to buy them. A single daily login covers several messages, so if you log in regularly you’ll always have coins to chat.

Q19 What topics can Seol help me with?

Seol knows about flights, hotels, destinations, travel tips, visa requirements, packing lists, local customs, safety advice, and all of GoGlobe’s features. Just ask — if Seol doesn’t know, it’ll say so.

Photos & AI

Q20 How does GoGlobe handle and protect my photos?

Every photo you upload goes through automatic safety checks — we filter inappropriate content, detect AI-generated images, and strip location metadata (EXIF data) from the file. You keep full ownership of your photos.

Q21 Does GoGlobe use my photos to train AI models?

No. GoGlobe does not use your photos to train AI models. Photos you upload are used only to display them within the app and to run automatic safety moderation on upload. Nothing more.

Q22 Can GoGlobe’s AI tell if a photo is real or fake?

Yes — GoGlobe uses AI to check whether photos are real, heavily edited, or AI-generated. Images flagged as fake or manipulated may not appear in public galleries, helping keep community content trustworthy.

Q23 Does GoGlobe own or sell my photos?

Your photos belong to you. By uploading, you give GoGlobe a non-exclusive licence to display them within the app — nothing else. GoGlobe does not sell your photos. You can delete them at any time from your profile.

Cookies

Q24 Why does GoGlobe use cookies?

GoGlobe uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and protect your account. With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to understand how people use the app so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies.

Q25 Can I use GoGlobe without accepting cookies?

Essential cookies (for login and security) are always active — the app can’t work without them. Analytics and optional cookies are off by default and are only enabled if you accept them in the cookie banner.

General

Q28 What is the Explorer Quiz?

The Explorer Quiz is a personality quiz that figures out your traveller type — Adventure Seeker, Cultural Explorer, Relaxation Nomad, and more. Your result unlocks your Explorer archetype badge and personalises your travel recommendations.

Q29 Is there a GoGlobe mobile app?

GoGlobe is a web app that works on any phone or tablet — just open goglobe.live in your browser. There’s no separate download required, though you can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Q30 How do I contact GoGlobe support?

Open the Account menu and tap Help, or send us a message from the in-app feedback option. We typically respond within one business day.

Q31 Is GoGlobe available in my language?

GoGlobe is available in 32 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, and more. Switch your language in the settings panel at any time.

Bookings & Eligibility

Q32 Can I book a flight or hotel for someone else?

Yes. During checkout, enter the traveller’s name and details in the passenger or guest fields instead of your own. The booking confirmation goes to your account email. The other person does not need a GoGlobe account.

Q33 Is there a minimum age to use GoGlobe?

GoGlobe is for users aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account and make any bookings on your behalf.

Q34 What happens to my bookings if I delete my account?

Your upcoming bookings remain valid after account deletion — the airline or hotel will still honour them. However, you will lose in-app access to your booking management tools. We recommend completing or cancelling any active bookings before deleting your account.

Q35 I booked without signing in — how do I cancel or manage my booking?

Right after booking, you’ll see an option to create a free account using the same email address you booked with. Set a password and the booking appears instantly in My Bookings — from there you can cancel, request a refund, or check for airline updates. If you’ve already left the confirmation page, just create an account at goglobe.live using that same email and your booking will be there.

Q41 Where can I see all my bookings?

All your flight, hotel, and activity bookings are in Account → My Bookings. Tap the account icon (top-right of the globe screen), then select My Bookings. Each booking shows its current status (confirmed, pending, cancelled), the itinerary details, and options to manage or cancel it.

If you booked as a guest (without logging in), create a free account at goglobe.live using the same email address you booked with — your bookings will appear automatically.

Q42 I didn’t receive a booking confirmation email — what should I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder — confirmation emails occasionally land there. If the booking shows as confirmed in Account → My Bookings, the reservation is valid even without the email.

If you don’t see the booking there either, contact GoGlobe support through Account → Help and provide the payment reference or the email address used. We’ll look it up and resend the confirmation within one business day.

Q43 How do I know if my hotel has free cancellation?

Free cancellation availability and the deadline are shown clearly on the hotel offer card before you book — look for the green ‘Free cancellation until [date]’ label. After booking, the same details appear in Account → My Bookings under the hotel reservation.

If you cancel before the free-cancellation deadline, you receive a full refund of the room cost (GoGlobe’s booking fee is still non-refundable). After the deadline the hotel’s standard penalty applies.

Things Around

Q36 What is Things Around?

Things Around shows you nearby points of interest for any location you explore on the GoGlobe globe — restaurants, cafés, museums, parks, shopping, and local hidden gems. Tap any location and select Things Around to discover what’s nearby.

Q37 How do I filter Things Around results?

Use the category tabs at the top of the Things Around panel to narrow results by type — Food & Drink, Attractions, Shopping, Outdoors, Nightlife, and more. You can also search within the results to find something specific.

Trip Planner

Q38 What is the Trip Planner?

The Trip Planner is an AI-powered itinerary builder built into GoGlobe. Tell it where you want to go and how many days you have, and it generates a day-by-day plan of activities, attractions, and local highlights tailored to your Explorer archetype and travel preferences.

Q39 How long does the Trip Planner take to create an itinerary?

Most itineraries are ready within 20–60 seconds. The Trip Planner runs a full AI model to build your personalised day-by-day schedule, so longer trips or multi-city plans may take a little more time.

Q40 Can I save or revisit my Trip Planner itinerary?

Yes. Your generated itinerary is saved automatically to your profile and can be accessed again from Account → My Trips. You can regenerate a fresh plan at any time. Direct editing of individual days is planned for a future update.
